The Sydney Swans’ Brownlow Medal invite list has been confirmed, with Charlie Curnow, Dane Rampe, Brodie Grundy, Logan McDonald and Tom McCartin set to attend Monday night’s count.
The group will only take their places in Melbourne if Sydney lose their preliminary final against Fremantle and miss out on a spot in the grand final.
Star midfielders Isaac Heeney and Chad Warner have been banned from attending the count in the wake of a sexual assault investigation, although both remain eligible to win the Brownlow Medal.
Attention among the Swans’ invited players could fall on Grundy. The AFL’s Brownlow predictor has him polling 15 votes, while the other four players on the list are forecast to collect 11 votes between them.
Heeney remains listed as Sydney’s predicted leading vote-getter, with 23 votes. His potential position at the top of the count could make for an awkward evening despite his absence from the room.
