Adrian Szymaniak, a participant in the Polish version of Married at First Sight, has died aged 39 after being diagnosed with a grade four glioblastoma in July 2025.
His death was announced on Saturday 5 September by his wife, Anita Szydłowska-Szymaniak, who said the family was grieving his loss and asked for privacy.
Szymaniak became known to viewers after appearing in the third series of the reality dating programme in 2018, where he met Anita. The couple remained together and went on to have two children.
Following his diagnosis, Szymaniak kept followers updated on his treatment and medical condition. He underwent surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy before later experiencing a recurrence of the disease.
In July this year, he told supporters that doctors had detected the return of the cancer, despite earlier treatment and encouraging test results.
His family said the funeral would be a private ceremony and asked that no photographs or recordings be taken. They also requested that the media and members of the public respect their need for quiet as they said goodbye.
