Adeel Khan has been sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London for helping escaped prisoner Daniel Khalife.
The case centres on offences of assisting an offender to escape custody in connection with Khalife’s flight from prison. The court heard the offence was committed when Khan provided support to Khalife while he was at large.
Prosecutors said the sentence reflects the seriousness with which authorities treat attempts to aid an escape from custody, particularly in a high-profile case that drew national attention.
Khan’s legal team did not respond to requests for comment. A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service said the case demonstrates ongoing vigilance against individuals who assist prisoners who have absconded.
