Milwaukee is facing two more days of unsettled weather, with rain expected to continue through Wednesday, September 30, before a wetter Thursday brings the possibility of heavy downpours and isolated thunderstorms.
The first spell of rain is forecast to ease during Wednesday afternoon, although showers are expected to return during the evening and overnight. Temperatures should reach about 68F, with south-easterly winds of between 5mph and 15mph.
The National Weather Service said the chance of precipitation in Milwaukee would be close to 100 per cent on Wednesday, followed by a 90 per cent chance of showers overnight. Heavy rain forecast for Thursday
Thursday is expected to be the wettest day of the period, with moderate to heavy rain at times and a small risk of thunderstorms. The rain should ease overnight as a cold front moves through, with winds turning north-westerly.
Rainfall totals are expected to be highest along and south of Interstate 94, particularly close to the Illinois border, where some localised areas could receive between 3in and 4in.

A Beach Hazards Statement was also issued for parts of the area from 10am on Wednesday until the evening, as wet and unsettled conditions affect the Lake Michigan shoreline. Conditions are expected to improve sharply on Friday, when morning cloud gives way to sunshine and temperatures fall to a high of about 64F. Saturday should be mostly sunny, with a similar high, while Sunday is forecast to be sunny and reach about 66F.
The settled spell is expected to continue into Monday, although temperatures will dip to around 60F. Overnight lows will fall into the mid-40s from Friday night, signalling a cooler start to October.
