Ms Rachel has pledged to match Macklemore’s $1 million Palestine donation and called on other wealthy white celebrities to support relief efforts for Palestinians.
The children’s creator said she would give the money to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, of which she is an ambassador.
In a statement, Ms Rachel wrote: “I will match Macklemore’s donation and I invite every wealthy white celebrity to match it and speak out against the genocide in Gaza.”
She added that celebrities had a “moral obligation” to “use our privilege and our platforms to protect children and human rights.”
Macklemore announced that he would donate the $1 million he earned from Ed Sheeran’s “Loop” tour to Palestinian relief groups. He also challenged New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft to match the contribution.
Kraft subsequently pledged $2 million to aid Palestine.
Ms Rachel had previously criticised the dispute surrounding the tour, after Macklemore was removed from the line-up. She claimed Ed Sheeran had “caved to people who refuse to accept what the world knows”.
Sheeran has said his hands were tied, while Macklemore cited pressure from several NFL team owners, including Kraft.
