New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez has accused Donald Trump’s administration of blocking his investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and withholding access to the complete case files.
Torrez said a request submitted earlier this year for unrestricted, unredacted access to the records was met with what he described as being “stonewalled”.
He made the claims during an interview with Jakson for TMZ In The Know, alleging that Mr Trump and US Attorney General Todd Blanche had hindered efforts to examine Epstein’s alleged crimes.
Torrez said there had been “no willingness” from the Trump administration to provide the information. He has filed a lawsuit in Washington DC seeking access to the files.
The New Mexico attorney general said his office would have to go to court and was taking every possible step to establish the truth.
Torrez also filed a lawsuit accusing Epstein’s former attorney, Darren Indyke, and former accountant, Richard Kahn, of covering up alleged crimes at Epstein’s Zorro Ranch estate.
