Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly interested in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yasin Ayari as both Premier League clubs assess options for next summer.
The 23-year-old Sweden international has attracted attention from several European sides, with AC Milan also understood to be monitoring his situation. His contract has become a key factor in the interest surrounding him.
Arsenal and Manchester United monitor Brighton midfielder
Ayari joined Brighton from AIK in January 2023 and, after gaining experience during loan spells, has established himself as an important member of the first-team squad.
He has made 85 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring eight goals and providing four assists. His composure in possession, ability to regain the ball and versatility in midfield have helped make him an appealing target.
Manchester United have been tracking Ayari for several months. Despite strengthening their midfield during the summer, they could still be interested in a player capable of offering greater defensive security and helping the side move the ball through transitions.
Arsenal are also keeping watch as Mikel Arteta considers the depth available in central midfield. Ayari’s ability to play in deeper positions and support attacking moves is understood to be part of his appeal to the Gunners.
Brighton seek to retain Yasin Ayari
Brighton are keen to extend Ayari’s contract and have an option that could improve their position in negotiations. The club are reluctant to lose a player who has become influential in the squad, particularly after his performances this season.
The competition for his signature could increase with AC Milan involved, while Arsenal and Manchester United may have to wait until summer 2027 before making a formal approach.
If Brighton’s contract discussions fail to produce an agreement, Ayari could emerge as an attractive target for Premier League clubs during a future transfer window.
