Charli D’Amelio has denied allegations that her parents, Marc and Heidi, mishandled or stole money from her, saying the claims are not true.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the social media star was asked about the speculation surrounding her family’s finances. She replied: “No, they’re not true. I wouldn’t say that they stole my money.”
Charli then added: “I think we did a lot of things as a family,” without explaining what she meant.
She is reportedly now overseeing her own finances. Charli and her family have also ended their business ties, meaning she is no longer involved with their popcorn company, Be Happy Snacks.
The family’s personal relationships have also faced scrutiny. Charli and her parents do not follow each other on social media, while she has acknowledged that there is a rift between her and her sister, Dixie.
“I mean, that’s my sister. I’m going to love her till the day I die. But there are times where you’re figuring stuff out,” Charli said.
She also reflected on her experience appearing in The D’Amelio Show, saying that watching the programme for the first time felt like “watching something I never lived”.
Charli said: “It’s almost as if I’m figuring out what has happened in my life over these last few years. I was so disconnected in so many ways.”
She added that she had stopped talking and showing her personality during that period because of the scrutiny she faced, saying: “It’s taken me to now to realize maybe I was dissociating through a lot of it.”
