Tan Mom has claimed she was nearly detained by ICE after agents questioned whether she was an American citizen, saying she believes her famously dark tan made her a target.
Patricia “Tan Mom” Krentcil recounted the alleged encounter during a recent episode of her podcast, which she co-hosts with her friend Adam Barta.
She said she had been leaving a restaurant with a girlfriend when ICE agents stopped her and asked about her citizenship. Krentcil said she told them she was a US citizen.
According to Krentcil, the situation nearly escalated to the point where she could have been handcuffed and taken away. She said she did not know where she might have been taken and described the experience as terrifying.
Despite her fear, Krentcil said she stood her ground and ultimately left without being detained.
The reality television personality accused ICE of racism and criticised President Donald Trump, saying he supported “all of this nonsense”.
Krentcil said the alleged encounter had left her shaken and that she was speaking out because she believed she had been treated unfairly because of the colour of her skin.
