Skyline High School in Oakland has cancelled the remainder of its 2026 varsity football season, with officials citing a shortage of players, injuries and transfers.
The decision was confirmed on Wednesday, September 30, bringing the team’s campaign to an early end. The school is part of the Oakland Athletic League and the CIF Oakland Section.
Skyline had recorded one win and four losses, according to MaxPreps, with its most recent fixture against Oakland Tech ending in a forfeit on September 29.
The cancellation leaves the Titans without the league matches they had been scheduled to play in October and November. School officials said the combination of a depleted squad and injuries had contributed to the decision.
Skyline High School is operated by the Oakland Unified School District and is located on Skyline Boulevard in the eastern part of the city.
