Paul Campbell’s emotional moment with fans on the final night of the Hallmark Christmas Cruise was hilariously interrupted by his fellow actors, who surrounded him as part of a prank.
The Hallmark Channel star was among 18 actors who joined 4,000 guests on the four-day cruise, which featured performances and shows throughout the trip. Campbell, usually one of the group’s jokers, had been invited to deliver a closing message to the audience.
As he began speaking, the other 17 actors started snapping their fingers and gathering around him. Campbell initially tried to continue with his speech, telling them: “I’m going to bring it down here for a minute. My cruise last year looked a little different.”
He had left the 2025 cruise early during a port stop in Cozumel, Mexico, after a family emergency, catching a flight to be with his family rather than travelling onwards to Miami with the rest of the guests.
“I had to leave early because of a family emergency. Yeah, how do you guys feel now,” Campbell said to his fellow actors. He then attempted to return to the emotional message, describing the previous year as “one of the hardest years of my life” before acknowledging the support of his friends.
“Being here with you guys the past four days and being surrounded by these people, who are truly some of my best friends on the entire planet, has reminded me that beauty still exists,” he said, before adding: “And… f*** off.”
After the actors walked away, Campbell resumed his speech. “And that magic is possible and that whatever you’re going through, this too shall pass,” he said, adding: “I’m going to start again. I need 30 minutes of total silence while I prepare!”
He eventually completed his message by saying: “What I was trying to say was, whatever you’re going through, no matter how dire it seems, this too shall pass. I call that hope. And hope is at the centre of everything that we do at Hallmark Channel. And if it’s not, then I don’t know what we’re doing here. So I’m grateful for that.”
Kimberley Sustad was next to address the audience but opted not to follow Campbell’s speech. “Absolutely not following that up,” she said.
