A quarter of a million people are expected to save significant sums under a rollback of a controversial state land tax introduced to tackle debt built up during the Covid era.
The change will reverse part of the tax measure, which had drawn criticism over its impact on those liable to pay it.
The rollback is intended to ease the financial burden on affected taxpayers while addressing concerns surrounding the post-Covid land tax.
