Russell Crowe showcased a reported 26kg weight loss as he attended the 83rd Venice International Film Festival with his partner, Britney Theriot.
The 62-year-old actor appeared alongside Theriot, 42, at the screening of What Love Builds at Sala Darsena in Italy. The couple posed together on the red carpet, with Crowe placing an arm around her waist.
Crowe wore a black suit with a crisp white shirt, while his grey hair was slicked back. Theriot chose a matching black halterneck gown with a plunging neckline, accessorised with diamond jewellery and black heels.
The actor has previously discussed his changing weight during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. He said he weighed 126kg after completing his latest film, Nuremberg, before reaching 100.9kg.
“I’m 100.9 now,” Crowe said during the conversation, while also explaining that he had significantly reduced his alcohol intake, although he still drinks.
He said his transformation had been supported by the health services platform Way2Well.
Crowe also said he had received injections as part of a wellness programme, after sustaining injuries through physical roles over the years.
“I’m not really across the science, but the real benefit I’m getting from these into my shoulders, my knees and also IVs, is that it’s calmed down my body’s inflammation,” he said.
The Venice appearance was another public red-carpet moment for Crowe and Theriot, whose relationship began in November 2020. They first met on the set of the thriller Broken City in 2013.
The couple made their red-carpet debut in October 2022 at the Rome premiere of Crowe’s film Poker Face.
Theriot, who is from New Orleans, is a former actress and former Saints cheerleader. Crowe was previously married to Danielle Spencer; they separated in 2012 and their divorce was finalised in 2018. They share two sons, Charles and Tennyson.
