Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick and set up another goal as Trabzonspor defeated defending champions Galatasaray 4-0 at home, handing the Istanbul club their first defeat of the Turkish Super Lig season.
Salah put Trabzonspor ahead in the fourth minute, racing through from midfield before calmly finishing. He then created the second goal for Noah Saviolo, who struck from inside the penalty area shortly before half-time.
The Egyptian forward added his second goal in the 44th minute, converting from a Franculino Dju assist to give Trabzonspor a commanding lead at the interval.
He completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute after running more than half the length of the pitch unchallenged and finishing with a side-footed shot.
Salah, who joined Trabzonspor last month, has now scored seven goals in six league appearances this season and has also provided two assists.
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk was sent to the stands in the 71st minute, while Lesley Ugochukwu was shown a red card 16 minutes from full-time.
German coach Thomas Reis took charge of Trabzonspor this week after Fatih Tekke left the club earlier this month. Trabzonspor are fifth in the table with 10 points from six matches, three behind leaders Galatasaray.
