Seventy people were cited after a weekend minibike gathering on Los Angeles’s Sixth Street Bridge prompted a police operation, with nearly 80 motorised pocket bikes, dirt bikes and e-bikes impounded.
Los Angeles Police Department officers moved in as dozens of riders gathered on the bridge, which links downtown Los Angeles with the Boyle Heights neighbourhood.
The vehicles were taken away during the enforcement operation, while those involved were issued citations, according to local reports.
The gathering centred on the Sixth Street Bridge, a well-known location that has previously been targeted by police during illegal street takeovers involving vehicles and motorbikes.
