Six Flags Over Georgia was sued over alleged injuries on its Thunder River water ride, according to a case filed in 2024 concerning an incident at the park in July 2022.
Bryce and Beatrice Jamison alleged that Bryce was thrown from his seat when the raft collided with part of the ride’s terrain. He said he was wearing his seatbelt at the time.
The impact allegedly sent him to the floor of the raft, causing injuries to his arm, neck, shoulder, back and thigh. Bryce claimed the belt appeared to be latched even though it had not secured properly, and blamed the park.
The couple brought claims against the company for negligence and loss of consortium. The case was later voluntarily dismissed with prejudice, meaning the complaint cannot be filed again.
It is unclear whether the dismissal followed a settlement.
The development comes after Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem died on Monday when he was thrown from Goliath, a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia that travels at close to 70mph. The ride has been shut while an investigation takes place.
Six Flags Over Georgia has been contacted for further information about the 2024 lawsuit but has not responded.
