A 26-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Alpurrurulam, a community in Australia’s Northern Territory.
Emergency services were contacted at about 5.30am on October 12 after a local clinic reported that the teenager had died following a physical assault.
Northern Territory Police arrested the man later that day. He was believed to have been in a relationship with the girl and was subsequently transferred to Darwin.
He was charged with one count of murder on Wednesday night and remanded in custody.
The man is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
