A Washington woman accused of stalking and threatening to kill her former husband is the subject of a new arrest warrant after failing to attend an arraignment in King County. A judge also increased Ingrid Johnson’s bail from $150,000 to $500,000.
Johnson, who also uses the name Ingrid Reinke, had been due to appear before King County Superior Court on Wednesday, October 28. She told the court she was suffering from norovirus, but Judge Nelson Lee rejected the evidence she supplied and said she failed to log in when offered the chance to attend remotely.
Her supporting material included a text exchange with an online nurse. Judge Lee said the messages did not clearly establish that Johnson was too ill to attend and accused her of attempting to avoid answering the charges.
Johnson was arrested on October 14 at her parents’ home in Anacortes, Washington. She had been held in Skagit County Jail while awaiting transfer to King County, but was released after her parents put up their home as security for the original bail.
Judge raises bail in stalking case
Prosecutors asked for bail to be increased after Johnson missed the hearing. Judge Lee agreed, saying he had serious concerns about the safety of the alleged victim and the wider community.
“I was going to go up as high as $1 million because this needs to stop,” Lee said. He added that Johnson’s alleged escalating behaviour raised fears she could act on threats and cause her former husband serious physical harm.
Johnson faces charges of felony stalking, felony cyber harassment and making a false or misleading statement to a public servant. A conviction could carry a sentence of up to 10 years for stalking and five years for cyber harassment.
The allegations arise from family court proceedings involving Johnson and her former husband. Prosecutors say she repeatedly violated protection orders, sent abusive communications and made increasingly threatening statements.
Charging documents allege that Johnson tried to persuade police to arrest her former husband by falsely claiming he had kidnapped their son. Prosecutors say the man had legal custody and that Johnson was permitted two hours of supervised contact each week, which she was not using.
Investigators also recorded messages in which Johnson allegedly threatened to kill the man and stab his eyes. In another incident on June 19, 2025, she is accused of sending screenshots of his medical records and threatening to publish them on LinkedIn.
Johnson denies no specific allegation in the material available, and the claims against her have not been tested at trial.
Vexatious litigant order
The case also involves allegations that Johnson misused the court system. In an amended order issued on August 1, 2025, King County Superior Court Judge Monica Cary found she had engaged in a “knowing, willful, and extensive pattern of abusive litigation and weaponization of the Court system” against her former husband or his lawyer.
Prosecutors further allege that Johnson used artificial intelligence to prepare filings containing inaccurate information, incorrect legal citations and flawed interpretations of the law.
Judge Lee said she had continued to file motions and allegations while subject to an outstanding warrant. He described the material as nonsensical and said the court had concerns about her alleged harassment and breaches of a no-contact order.
Authorities are asking anyone who knows where Johnson is to call 911. Anonymous information can also be passed to CrimeStoppers of Puget Sound, which is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to her arrest.
