Three teenage boys have been charged after a 41-year-old man was allegedly stabbed during a confrontation with people trying to break into a car in Langwarrin, south-east Melbourne.
Emergency services were called to Govan Street at about 12.20am on Saturday. Paramedics found the man with a life-threatening stab wound and took him to hospital, where he is now in a stable condition.
Police were told the man had confronted three young men allegedly attempting to break into a car. CCTV footage from the area showed one boy wearing a grey tracksuit walking around the backyard of a home.
The trio had left before officers arrived. Police arrested two boys within hours of the incident and detained a third later on Saturday night.
The boys, two aged 16 and one aged 17, have been charged with allegedly causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence. They are due to appear before a children’s court on Sunday.
