AEW chief executive Tony Khan broke down during a tearful tribute to wrestler PAC before filming for a Ring of Honor event in Jacksonville, Florida.
Addressing those gathered on Monday, Khan spoke about the wrestler’s qualities and referred to him by his real name, Ben — Benjamin Satterley.
Khan described PAC as an “absolutely fantastic wrestler” and, more importantly, “an absolutely fantastic human being.”
He then asked for silence as a 10-bell salute was held in the wrestler’s honour. The room fell silent as the bell was rung 10 times.
PAC was found unresponsive in a vehicle outside an Illinois restaurant on Sunday evening and was pronounced dead at 4.08pm local time. The cause of death remains unknown.
His death came less than a day after he competed at AEW’s All Out event in Chicago, where he wrestled Andrade El Idolo before appearing during the night’s main event.
