Panorama Produce is recalling 302 boxes of Martina mangoes sold at selected Walmart stores in four US states over possible salmonella contamination.
The recalled fruit was distributed in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania between 10 and 21 August 2026. No illnesses linked to the mangoes have been reported, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said.
The recall was launched after FDA sampling detected salmonella in mangoes grown on the same farm as the affected produce. The fruit that tested positive was not distributed in the United States, but the recalled mangoes came from the same source.
How to identify the recalled mangoes
The mangoes were sold in Martina-branded cases. Individual fruits carry a light blue sticker marked “Agrofepac”, “Produce of Mexico” and PLU number 4584.
The product’s UPC number is 07503061948050. Consumers are being urged to check these identifiers carefully before eating the fruit.
Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Young children, older people and those with weakened immune systems can face a greater risk of serious infection.
What consumers should do
Anyone who has one of the recalled mangoes should throw it away or return it to the store where it was bought. People who think they may have become ill after eating the fruit should contact a healthcare professional.
