Arsenal and Manchester United are monitoring Como centre-back Jacobo Ramón after the former Real Madrid youngster made an impressive start to life in Serie A.
The 21-year-old has established himself as an important member of Cesc Fàbregas’s side, with his performances attracting growing interest from the Premier League.
Ramón has also added goals to his defensive qualities this season. He has scored three times in 12 appearances, including a header in Como’s 4-1 Champions League victory over Manchester United and a goal in the recent 3-1 comeback win against Torino.
Arsenal and Manchester United tracking Como defender
Arsenal have followed the Spaniard for some time, while Manchester United are also understood to have identified him as a potential defensive target.
Ramón’s composure and technical ability make him suited to Arsenal’s preference for defenders who can contribute to building play from the back. His aerial strength and aggressive approach could also appeal to both clubs as they assess their defensive options.
Manchester United are seeking younger and more reliable options at the back, while Ramón’s development under Fàbregas has increased his profile in Italy.
His current valuation is understood to be between €45 million and €50 million. However, Como’s asking price may not be the only factor determining where the defender plays next.
Real Madrid retain influence over Ramón’s future
Real Madrid retained a buy-back option and a 50 per cent sell-on clause when Ramón joined Como in 2025.
Should his progress continue, the Spanish club could exercise the buy-back provision and take control of the situation before Arsenal or Manchester United make a move. That means Ramón’s future may ultimately depend on Real Madrid’s decision in 2027 rather than solely on Como’s valuation.
Fàbregas praised Ramón when Como signed him, describing him as “a young player with a great future”. The Como manager added that he expected the defender to have “a very positive impact on our team”.
