Andrew Hastie has vowed to intensify his attack on One Nation, telling Barnaby Joyce that the party had “not seen anything yet” after its leader Pauline Hanson labelled him a traitor in a cartoon. The Liberal frontbencher said he would “go all the way with One Nation” and accused the party of mistaking restraint for weakness. His comments deepen a public split between Hanson and Joyce, who apologised to Mr Hastie over the cartoon. “As I said to Barnaby in text, I will continue. Consider last week a demonstration. They haven’t seen anything yet. I’ll go all the way with…
A 38-year-old Long Island man has been identified as the fan who ran on to the field at Yankee Stadium waving a Palestinian flag during the Yankees-Mets game on Friday night. Kelly Marcucci was arrested after entering the field in the seventh inning of the Subway Series match, which the Yankees won 6-4. The NYPD said he faces charges of interference with a professional sporting event and trespassing, both misdemeanours. Marcucci was wearing a baseball jersey bearing the words “No Kings” when he sprinted across the field. Security staff tackled him as spectators chanted “USA! USA!” The phrase “No Kings”…
Heidi Klum surprised her son Henry with a red Ferrari F430 for his 21st birthday after his stepfather, Tom Kaulitz, fulfilled a promise made during a video game bet. The supermodel shared footage of the moment Henry was led outside and saw the convertible waiting on the driveway. Klum stood beside the car as Kaulitz guided him towards the surprise. “I can’t believe it is that time. You’ve been waiting for so many years,” Klum told her son in the video. Henry reacted with disbelief, saying: “Oh my God! Jesus Christ. I don’t even know what to say.” The Ferrari…
Stockbridge City Council has gone into executive session after a day-long hearing that could determine whether Mayor Jayden Williams remains in office. City officials presented evidence alleging that Mr Williams mismanaged municipal funds and engaged in inappropriate conduct. The council is expected to consider the evidence privately before deciding whether to remove him. The hearing, held on Saturday 12 September, followed weeks of investigation into the mayor’s conduct. The allegations include the misuse of city purchasing cards and other public resources, as well as claims concerning communications with an 18-year-old. Mr Williams has denied wrongdoing and has challenged the process,…

Elena Rybakina won the US Open title by defeating Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 in New York, completing a double triumph that will also see her become the world’s number one player. Rybakina had already secured enough ranking points to replace Sabalenka at the top of the women’s game next week. She then ended the Belarusian’s two-year reign as US Open champion to claim her first title at Flushing Meadows. “It’s tough to find words right now, honestly,” Rybakina said. “I don’t expect nothing like this coming to this tournament. I’ve been dealing with a little bit with an injury,…
A veteran crime scene investigator is suing West Midlands Police for £100,000, claiming the pressure of handling dozens of murders and other suspicious deaths contributed to a stroke that ended his career. Paul Tebbutt, 68, worked for the force for 27 years, helping to investigate more than 2,000 deaths during his time in its forensics team. He became a crime scene co-ordinator in 2012. Mr Tebbutt says he dealt with about 45 murders and 100 suspicious deaths each year. In 2017, he attended up to 200 deaths while working 45 hours a week. The following year, he dealt with the…
Former CIA official David J. Rush has reached a tentative plea agreement with federal prosecutors over allegations that he stole public money by fraudulently inflating his salary, court records show. A federal judge has extended the deadline for prosecutors to formally indict Rush until 8 October, allowing time for his lawyer and the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia to finalise the agreement. The parties said a trial could involve substantial litigation over classified material. The proposed deal has not been detailed in court filings. Rush was charged in May with theft of public money. An FBI…
