Chris Brown’s child support dispute has escalated after Diamond Brown alleged in court documents that the singer has had little interest in seeing their four-year-old daughter, Lovely.
Diamond claims she cares for Lovely about 90% of the time and says Brown has not asked to see the child for the past six to seven months. She acknowledged that his work frequently takes him out of town, but said she has continued to support the relationship between father and daughter.
She alleges Brown previously asked to take Lovely on tour on alternate weekends, a proposal she considered unsuitable for a child of her age. Diamond said the singer would be occupied with work and that Lovely would instead be looked after by a nanny.
In the paperwork, Diamond described Brown as “often uninterested” while maintaining that she has tried to encourage and nurture their relationship.
She is seeking an increase in monthly child support, saying the 7,000 dollars (£5,300) she currently receives does not meet her needs and is leaving her deeper in debt each month. Diamond is asking for the payments to rise to at least 30,000 dollars (£22,500) a month.
Diamond also referred to Brown’s spending on gifts, including a new car and 10,000 dollars in cash given to a fan and her family. She further cited luxury handbags he allegedly gave to the mothers of his other children, including a Hermès bag and Prada handbags.
Brown’s other children’s mothers have previously defended him following Diamond’s claims in court. They said he takes care of all his children.
