Sarah Todd and Declan Cleary have denied rumours that they have separated, with a source close to the MasterChef Australia couple saying they remain together and are planning their future as a family.
The pair, who met while filming MasterChef: Back to Win in 2024, have attracted speculation after largely disappearing from one another’s social-media posts. They have shared few photographs together since a European holiday in September 2025.
Questions about their relationship intensified after Todd did not interact with a Father’s Day post Cleary shared on Sunday, 6 September. The post was his first since the couple welcomed twin daughters, Claudia and Charlotte, on Christmas Eve last year.
However, New Idea reported that Cleary, 27, had told friends the couple had “definitely not” split.
“Their lives might look separate from the outside, but behind closed doors they are very much together,” an insider told the publication. “They are making plans, looking for a home and building their future as a family. There is no split.”
The source said Todd, 38, and Cleary had made a deliberate decision to reduce the amount of their relationship and family life shared online, rather than signalling the end of their romance.
“They have just realised that not every part of their relationship needs to be performed on social media,” the insider added.
Sarah Todd and Declan Cleary are planning a larger Melbourne home
The couple are reportedly looking for a larger home in Melbourne, where they live with Todd’s 15-year-old son, Phoenix, and Cleary’s dog, Sol.
According to New Idea, Todd has been keen to keep more of her family life private, while Cleary has traditionally been more relaxed about allowing followers into their personal lives. The pair are said to have reached a compromise over what they post and how frequently they appear together online.
Their busy work schedules have also contributed to the reduced public contact. Todd is travelling to India for a cooking-related work commitment, with the twins reportedly travelling with her at times and remaining with Cleary at others.
The couple went public with their relationship in early 2025, after falling for one another during filming. Todd later moved to Melbourne to be with Cleary, who had relocated from Sydney.
They announced the arrival of their daughters in a joint social-media post, describing themselves as “deeply blessed” and saying their hearts were “full to the brim”.
Despite the recent speculation, the source said Todd and Cleary remained focused on raising their twins alongside Phoenix and establishing a long-term family home in Melbourne.
