Prince Harry and Meghan are to make their first joint public appearances since returning to England, with a day of visits to three charities in Nottingham as they seek to rebuild their public profile in Britain.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will return to the city where they made their first joint appearance after announcing their engagement in 2017. Their programme includes a planned media pool and an announcement using their titles.
The couple’s philanthropic venture, Archewell, is not expected to feature prominently during the day. Instead, the focus will be on organisations supporting young people, families and disadvantaged communities.

The couple will visit the Community Recording Studio, which uses music, performance and athletics to help young people develop confidence and practical skills.
They will also visit Himmah, described as central England’s biggest food bank, and Epic Partners, which provides sports, education and mentoring programmes for disadvantaged young people.
Harry and Meghan remain non-working members of the royal family. King Charles made clear that status after they left royal duties six years ago and moved to California, a position the couple accepted.
A letter sent on the King’s behalf to senior government officials shortly after their return to the UK in September stressed that they would continue to refrain from using the royal forms of address His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness.
It also stated that any charitable work undertaken by the couple would be carried out as private citizens. The letter reflected concern among some palace officials that their celebrity could develop into a parallel royal court, competing with the Prince and Princess of Wales and other working royals for coverage and public support.
Harry and Meghan are reportedly living with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, at a private, non-royal residence in the Cotswolds.
Harry continues to campaign for publicly funded police protection, which was withdrawn after the couple gave up their royal duties. The children have also changed schools just days into the new school year because of security concerns.
