Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed’s emotional performances in Frank Capra’s 1946 film It’s a Wonderful Life have been examined by Hollywood historian Sam Wasson.
Wasson, author of Frank Capra: A Life, spoke with Lee Cowan about the making of the classic and the impact of Stewart and Reed’s performances.
The discussion also considers how Capra created a film that became timeless, despite It’s a Wonderful Life not becoming the box-office success he had hoped for.
