Heidi Klum has marked Halloween with an elaborate costume depicting an eight-foot, bloody severed version of her own left hand.
The model arrived at her 25th anniversary Halloween party at New York’s Moxy Hotel inside the gory creation, which featured her distinctive thumb ring and wedding ring to Tom Kaulitz.
Red fingernails served as the costume’s feet, completing the unusual portrayal of Klum’s hand in graphic detail.
Klum said the idea came to her a year earlier while she was being fitted for her Medusa costume by Hollywood makeup artist Mike Marino.
“I remember sitting in the chair, and I said to Mike, ‘Do you want to know already my idea for next year?’ And he’s like, ‘Please, no, I’m focusing on getting Medusa squared away, I can’t handle this right now,’” she recalled.
Marino later scanned Klum’s hand as a reference, allowing the costume to recreate the fine details of her fingers.
