Fitness influencer Khiana Smith remains in intensive care in Bali after contracting bacterial meningitis during a holiday and later being diagnosed with pneumonia.
Smith, who has nearly 87,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram, described her condition in a TikTok video, saying she had been “bedbound in ICU in Bali with a brain infection that could have killed me.”
She said her illness began with a headache before developing into “extreme head pains, dizziness, slurred speech, slurred vision, and a severe sensitivity to light.”
After nine days in intensive care, Smith said she had lost a significant amount of her memory. “I really struggle to remember things,” she said.
She remains in hospital in Bali and said: “I feel absolutely helpless, and I just wanna go home.”
