A stranger used influencer Liam Fitzgerald’s mobile phone to call 911 after finding him injured beside a motorcycle in Miramar, Florida, following a crash on 30 October.
Audio from the emergency call captures the man telling a dispatcher that he had been driving home when he noticed the motorcycle in grass. He stopped to investigate and found Fitzgerald lying on the ground.
“I’m glad I saw him,” the caller said as emergency crews were sent to the scene.
He then pleaded with the dispatcher: “Please, please be quick.” The caller remained with Fitzgerald while waiting for police and revealed that he was using the injured man’s own mobile phone to contact 911.
The man also reported that Fitzgerald appeared to have struck a traffic sign, which was bent. Authorities have not confirmed what caused the motorcycle crash.
Earlier dispatch audio indicated that Fitzgerald was motionless but apparently still breathing when he was found. Police said no witnesses to the crash itself had come forward and that the investigation was ongoing.
Fitzgerald later died from his injuries. His girlfriend, Jamie, announced his death on social media.
