Mika Abdalla has been cast in the mystery-thriller film Seeker, marking her first movie role since her breakthrough in the Prime Video series Off Campus. The 26-year-old actress will star opposite Cooper Tomlinson.
Abdalla will play Caroline, whose unexplained disappearance five years earlier continues to haunt Grant, played by Tomlinson. Now working as a ride-share driver, Grant becomes convinced that a passenger is connected to her disappearance.
The encounter develops into a tense pursuit before taking a stranger and more disturbing turn, challenging the assumptions surrounding Caroline’s disappearance.
Seeker will be directed by Adam Rehmeier, who previously worked with Abdalla on Snack Shack. Jessica Rothe, known for the Happy Death Day films and the upcoming horror movie River, is also joining the cast.
Producers are still casting the roles of Steve and Kate. Production is due to take place in Washington State in January 2027.
Rehmeier said he was drawn to the project after reading Michael’s script.
“I was all-in the moment I finished reading Michael’s script – it’s dark, twisted, funny, terrifying; a perfect mash-up of genres I haven’t tackled yet,” he said. “I couldn’t be more excited to get to work with my regular team of collaborators and this amazing group of producers at Hammerstone Studios, HyperObject Industries and Arkhum Productions.”
