Jay-Z has been confirmed as the performer for the Super Bowl 61 halftime show, ending speculation over who will take the stage at the event.
The music mogul confirmed the announcement in a statement, saying: “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
Justin Bieber and Harry Styles had previously been considered for the high-profile performance, although neither was interested in taking on the role.
Miley Cyrus had also been the subject of rumours about the show. Jay-Z will instead headline the Super Bowl 61 halftime performance.
It remains unclear whether Beyoncé will join him as a guest performer.
