Escaped Tennessee inmate Jacob Allen Morley has been caught on video allegedly stealing a Ford pickup truck during his search for freedom, authorities said.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation released footage showing a man it identified as Morley taking a white 2008 Ford F-350 in Lake County at about 1am on Monday.
The video appears to show the man first trying the passenger-side door before breaking into the driver’s side. He then sits inside the vehicle for about a minute, activates the windscreen wipers and drives away.
The TBI has warned members of the public not to approach Morley or the truck if they see either of them. Anyone with information has been urged to call 911.
Morley escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville late on Sunday night, according to the Tennessee Department of Correction.
He has since been placed on the TBI’s Most Wanted List, with a reward of up to $2,500 available for information leading to his arrest.
Morley was convicted last year of first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, evading arrest and vandalism in connection with the death of Cody Birchfield.
Birchfield had been reported missing before authorities found him beneath Morley’s house in 2022.
