Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly set to host the 2027 season of Junior MasterChef Australia, with filming expected to take place in Melbourne over several weeks.
The reported television role could see the 45-year-old spend part of next year in Victoria as the children’s cooking competition returns to Channel Ten, six years after its last series.
A source close to the production said Meghan would have a prominent hosting role on the programme. She is also tipped to appear alongside MasterChef Australia judge Poh Ling Yeow.
The engagement follows Meghan’s surprise guest appearance on the flagship cooking show earlier this year. She visited Melbourne Showgrounds in April to film a segment while in Australia with Prince Harry.
Viewers reacted positively when the episode aired, with some describing the former Suits actress as graceful, down to earth and genuinely nice. Others said they had been impressed by her feedback and manner on the programme.
Harry and the couple’s children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, could reportedly join Meghan during the production, although no firm arrangements have been confirmed.
The Sussexes have previously been reported to be considering a more flexible, international lifestyle, with Australia among the places they may spend extended periods. One source said the couple could remain away for “six months”, “a year” or longer, adding that they might consider trying Canada or Australia.
The reported Junior MasterChef Australia appointment would mark a return to the country for Meghan only months after her first appearance on the adult version of the programme.
