Comedian Josh Widdicombe has revealed that his nine-month-old kitten Fluffball has died after being hit by a car, just weeks after the death of his other cat, Beryl.
Widdicombe shared the news on the latest episode of his podcast, Parenting Hell, saying Fluffball was killed on the road outside his home while he and his family were in Cornwall.
The kitten was later found by a neighbour, according to the comedian, who described the loss as “absolutely fucking awful” during the episode released on Tuesday, September 8.
Fluffball’s death came around two weeks after Beryl passed away. The earlier loss was discussed on an August episode of the podcast, which Widdicombe presents with fellow comedian Rob Beckett.
Announcing the latest tragedy, the podcast’s episode notes said: “And sadly, Flufball has crossed the rainbow bridge.”
Widdicombe said the family was now “down to one cat” following the deaths, but added that he did not want to discuss the loss further on the comedy podcast.
