Kaia Gerber has shared a message about grief following the death of her brother, Presley Gerber, who died aged 27.
In an Instagram post, the model showed a selection of books and novels about grief before highlighting a passage by Joan Didion.
“Grief, when it comes, is nothing we expect it to be. Grief has no distance. Grief comes in waves, paroxysms, sudden apprehensions that weaken the knees and blind the eyes and obliterate darkness,” the quotation read.
Gerber had spoken about Presley’s death three weeks earlier, posting a lengthy letter addressed to her brother for her followers.
In that message, she wrote that she was “quite literally, down on my f***ing knees” and said she was “born loving you” and would “die loving you.”
Presley was found unresponsive in his room at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica on September 20, just hours after checking into the facility.
Police are investigating his death as a suspected overdose, while his official cause of death remains pending.
