Deon Derrico has alleged in court that a male friend spending time with his ex-wife, Karen Derrico, inappropriately touched one of their daughters when she was younger.
The former TLC star said he discovered the allegation in the child’s journal and raised concerns about the man being around their children. He claims Karen dismissed those concerns.
Deon said 12 of the couple’s 14 children currently live with him and that information he uncovered had caused him “significant concern regarding the safety and welfare” of their minor children.
The filing does not establish whether the man is in a romantic relationship with Karen. The allegation has not been proven in court, and Karen has not yet responded to it in the proceedings.
The Derrico custody dispute
The claims form part of the former couple’s continuing court battle. Karen was arrested in June after allegedly making threats towards Deon and their children.
In a separate filing, Karen alleged that Deon had withheld the children from her for a substantial period. She said she was denied in-person contact from April and that video contact was later stopped in August.
Deon and Karen divorced in 2024 and share 14 children, including 13 minors and one adult. Their divorce judgment provides for joint legal custody.
