Rami Khouri, a public policy fellow at the American University of Beirut, has rejected the suggestion that a strong Israeli-Arab bloc result reflects a positive change in Israeli society.
Khouri argued that the outcome should not be interpreted as evidence of a broader shift in Israel, saying he believed the country would not change.
He described “Zionism and the state of Israel” as “a racist enterprise”, presenting the result as insufficient to alter his assessment of Israeli society and the state’s underlying character.
