Kate Gosselin has denied her son Collin’s claim that she visited him only once during his two-year stay at a behavioural health facility.
Collin, who was a pre-teen when he was sent to the facility in 2016, makes the allegation in his best-selling memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.
He writes that his mother told him he had “broke” the family and says she visited him just once during the period of institutionalisation.
Responding in a TikTok comment, Kate said: “I visited EVERY single time the facility felt he was stable enough for a visit. Sometimes a visit was planned but the facility canceled it because he was too unstable and it would have to be rescheduled.”
She also said she attempted to contact Collin “every single time” he had phone privileges. Kate further alleged that his “violent behavior” was the reason he was placed in the facility.
Collin has separately accused Kate of abusing him during his childhood, including an allegation that she once restrained his hands and feet with zip ties.
