Leeds United and Everton are interested in Rennes striker Esteban Lepaul as both Premier League clubs consider adding to their attacking options in the coming transfer windows.
The 26-year-old forward has attracted attention after a prolific spell in Ligue 1, although Rennes are under no immediate pressure to sell and are understood to be keen to retain him.
Leeds and Everton interested in Esteban Lepaul
Lepaul joined Rennes from Angers in 2025 and quickly established himself as one of the division’s most effective finishers. He scored 20 league goals last season and has continued that form this term, finding the net four times in his opening six league appearances.
His performances have also led to a first senior call-up for France, further raising his profile as interest from England grows.
Leeds could see the Frenchman as a way to strengthen their attacking depth, while Everton are also assessing forwards who could improve their options in the final third.
Rennes reluctant to part with striker
Any move for Lepaul is likely to prove difficult. Rennes have him under contract until 2030 and can offer European football through their Europa League campaign, leaving the French club with little need to consider an early departure.
Lepaul is reportedly settled at Rennes and is not in a hurry to leave after earning international recognition. Those factors make a January transfer appear unlikely, with next summer a more realistic opportunity for Leeds or Everton to pursue an agreement.
Rennes’ negotiating position could become even stronger if the striker maintains his goalscoring form, meaning either Premier League club may need to make a significant financial commitment to secure his signature.
