Lenovo has unveiled two flagship Android tablets at IFA, with the Yoga Tab Gen 2 and Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 combining high-resolution displays, powerful processors and long-term software support. Both models are due to go on sale this month.
The 11.1-inch Yoga Tab Gen 2 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s chipset and features a 4K display. It has an 11,000mAh battery, up to 12GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage, with a microSD card slot for expansion.
Despite its large battery, the tablet measures 8.56mm thick. Lenovo has priced the Yoga Tab Gen 2 at 729.99 US dollars.
Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 features Snapdragon power
The larger Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 is fitted with a 13-inch 4K display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage as standard, while a higher specification will offer 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, again with microSD support.
It has a 12,700mAh battery and is slightly slimmer than the standard model at 8.27mm. The Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 will cost 999.99 US dollars.
Both tablets include a small status light or display on the rear. Lenovo says the feature is primarily decorative, although it can respond to music, videos and games.
The company is also promoting the tablets as productivity devices. Both support keyboards, while the Plus model has a magnetic keyboard clamshell designed to attach in a single step.
Lenovo’s Tab Pen Pro 2 stylus adds gesture-based controls, including Squeeze to Create, Double Tap, drawing by clicking the pen’s tail, recording with a double-click and flipping the pen to erase.
Each tablet will ship with Android 17 and receive seven years of Android updates, taking them through Android 24. Lenovo has also promised security updates through 2033.
The tablets were announced as part of Lenovo’s Innovation World event at IFA, alongside new laptops and other consumer technology products.
