Arda Güler has signed a new contract with Real Madrid that will keep him at the club until June 2032, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano said all formalities had been completed, securing the future of the Turkey international amid reported interest from Premier League clubs.
Arda Güler completes new Real Madrid contract
“Real Madrid and Arda Guler have completed all the formal steps on a new contract for the Turkish star,” Romano said in a video update.
“The contract is signed, completed, valid for the next five seasons. Arda Guler is staying at Real Madrid, continuing at the club.”
Güler joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahce in 2023 and has scored 21 goals in 123 appearances for the Spanish club.
His time in the Spanish capital has included some difficult periods, but he has increasingly established himself as an important member of the squad.
Arsenal were reported to have made enquiries about the midfielder earlier this year, while Chelsea were also linked with a possible move in January. The new long-term agreement appears to make a transfer to either club considerably less likely.
The 21-year-old had been viewed as a potential fit for Arsenal, including as a possible long-term replacement for Martin Odegaard, while Chelsea’s focus on young players also appeared to make Güler an attractive target.
Real Madrid have now secured the Turkey international’s commitment, with the agreement set to run through June 2032.
