M*A*S*H actor Mike Farrell has been seen in Los Angeles for the first time since the death of his wife, Shelley Fabares, aged 82.
Farrell, 87, was photographed out on Tuesday with a woman who appeared to be his daughter Erin Farrell, from his first marriage to actress Judy Farrell.
The actor was dressed casually in a white T-shirt, acid-wash jeans and black trainers as he walked through the city.
Fabares died in Los Angeles on 22 August following a brief illness. She and Farrell had been married since 1984.
A death certificate obtained by People listed acute respiratory distress as the immediate cause of death, with primary pneumonia recorded as a condition that led to it. Farrell paid tribute to Fabares in a social media post shortly after her death, writing: “Miss you… Will always love you.” Her family described her as a source of “love, strength, laughter and comfort”. Shelley Fabares was known for The Donna Reed Show and Coach
Fabares rose to fame as Mary Stone in The Donna Reed Show and later starred as Christine Armstrong in the sitcom Coach, for which she received two Emmy nominations.

Farrell was best known for playing Captain B. J. Hunnicutt in M*A*S*H. He joined the series in 1975 after Wayne Rogers left and remained with the programme until its final episode in 1983.
The finale became the most-watched television programme in US history at the time, a record that stood until the 2010 Super Bowl.
Farrell and Fabares later worked together on Coach and provided the voices of Clark Kent’s adoptive parents in several animated Superman productions.
Farrell was previously married to Judy Farrell, who appeared in eight episodes of M*A*S*H as Nurse Able. They divorced in 1983 and shared two children. Judy Farrell died in 2023.
