Michael Lohan has criticised Perez Hilton after the blogger was hospitalised following a suicide attempt, saying he had “one word for him: Karma”.
Speaking on the Light. Tan. Up. podcast, Lindsay Lohan’s father added: “How’s that? What goes around, comes around.”
Mr Lohan also condemned a GoFundMe fundraiser set up to help Mr Hilton’s mother with the additional costs of caring for his three children. He described the appeal as “pathetic”, claiming the blogger had said “a lot of horrible things about people”.
“To use something like that, for financial gain, is beyond disgusting,” Mr Lohan said. “And I don’t dislike him, I pity him.”
The pair have clashed previously over Perez Hilton’s coverage of the Lohan family. Mr Hilton’s team was approached for comment but had not responded.
The fundraiser was started by Mr Hilton’s friend Tom D’Angora, with the blogger’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira, named as the recipient. It was intended to help with the costs of looking after Mr Hilton’s three children.
Following the suicide attempt in August, Mr Hilton was hospitalised with broken bones and treated for an overdose. He was later placed under a psychiatric hold and had a supervised in-person visit with his three children at a residential treatment facility in September.
