Police in Kirkland, Washington, are appealing for help to find 16-year-old Francisca Hunter, who has been missing since October 26 and is believed to be without prescribed medication.
Francisca was last seen at about 8pm in the Totem Lake area, near Northeast 124th Street. She is also known as Fran or Franny.
Her father, Jake Hunter, said she left a treatment facility in Kirkland without a phone, money, identification or a change of clothes. The family has had no contact with her since.
“She left around eight o’clock at night without a phone, money, identification, or even a change of clothes,” Mr Hunter said. “We haven’t heard from her since. She’s without medication that she needs, and so we’re extremely concerned about her safety.”
Francisca is described as being about 5ft 3in tall and weighing approximately 130lb, with brown eyes and black and gold hair. She was last reported to be wearing grey sweatpants, a black long-sleeved top and black flats.
Police said she may be using the name Angelina Dylan and telling people that she is 18. Her family has previously heard her talk about travelling to Sacramento, California, while the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children said she may travel to Oregon or California.
Family searches for missing Kirkland teenager
Jake Hunter and his wife, Lety, have searched from Bellingham to Tacoma with friends, visiting transport stations, shelters, food banks and encampments. They have also distributed hundreds of flyers and contacted youth outreach organisations and groups supporting people experiencing homelessness.
Mrs Hunter said police have Francisca’s phone and that there had been no indication she had attempted to contact anyone by email or social media. She said that was unusual because her daughter normally used her phone to keep in touch with friends.
Speaking directly to her daughter, Mrs Hunter said: “Franny, you’re very loved. We want to know that you’re okay. We want help you. There’s so many people that care immensely about you and of course you’re not in any kind of trouble.”
“We just need to know that you’re safe, Francisca,” her father added.
Kirkland police are asking anyone who sees Francisca or has information about her whereabouts to call 911 immediately.
