An urgent search is under way in rural north Queensland for Marcus Bismark, who has been missing for almost a week and may be carrying a firearm.
The 44-year-old was last seen at about 1.30pm on Saturday walking along Gregory Developmental Road, around 250km west of Townsville, after his vehicle broke down. He has not been seen or heard from since.
Police and Bismark’s family have serious concerns for his welfare because of a medical condition and the length of time he has been missing.
Officers believe he may be in possession of a firearm and have warned members of the public not to approach him if he is spotted. Anyone who sees him should contact police immediately.
Bismark is described as about 180cm tall, with a solid build, dark complexion and black hair. He was last seen wearing long black trousers and no shirt.
Police have appealed directly to Bismark to make contact and let authorities know he is safe.
Officers are also seeking dashcam footage that may have captured him in the Greenvale region on Saturday.
