City of South Perth chief executive Liz Ledger has resigned after just four months in the role, criticising what she described as a dysfunctional council culture and factional politics.
Ms Ledger also said she had been blocked from addressing serious health and safety hazards, adding to the concerns surrounding her departure from the Western Australian council.
Her resignation brings a brief tenure at the City of South Perth to an abrupt end. The allegations centre on the council’s internal culture and the obstacles she said prevented action on safety issues.
Ms Ledger’s departure follows her criticism of the way the council operated, including the influence of factional politics and the handling of health and safety concerns.
