Two women are critically injured after a police car responding to a priority incident collided with their Kia sedan in Bossley Park, in Sydney’s south-west.
The crash happened on Prairie Vale Road at about 12.20pm on Sunday while the police vehicle was travelling with its lights and sirens activated.
Both vehicles left the road, broke through a fence and struck separate houses. No one inside either property was injured.
The Kia driver, a woman believed to be in her late 20s, was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
Her passenger, believed to be in her early 50s, was taken to Liverpool Hospital, also critically injured.
The two 24-year-old male constables in the police car were taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing and treatment for minor injuries.
The officers had been responding to a priority incident involving a child seen running on the roadway.
Following initial inquiries, a critical incident was declared to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
