Collingwood defender Dan Houston and Channel Seven presenter Tyra Stowers are expecting their first child together, a baby girl due in March.
The couple announced the news on social media with a video showing them relaxing in a park while holding pink balloons. “We can’t wait to meet you,” they captioned the post.
Houston said becoming parents had always been part of their plans. “It was always part of the plan and something we both wanted to do in life. We both love boxers and we both love kids,” he told the Herald Sun.
Stowers, the 7News weekend weather presenter, said she was four months pregnant and feeling positive about the pregnancy.
“I’m feeling good now. All the scans have come back perfect, everything looks great. I love work and I’ll be there until I can,” she said.
She added that she had recently started to show, saying: “I saw a photo of myself when I was seven or eight weeks and thought I was massive then. I feel like in the past week or two I have started to show!”
Stowers revealed in March that she and Houston were in a relationship. The pair said they had bonded over their shared love of boxer dogs, with Stowers joking that she had since become a Magpies supporter.
“We are in a really good place,” she said. “I’ll now be a Collingwood supporter!”
Stowers, who is from Perth, previously worked for 9News before joining Seven in 2024 after two years with the Nine Network. She has also worked for Fox Sports Australia and as a guest producer for Sky News Australia.
Houston joined Collingwood in 2024 after beginning his professional career with Port Adelaide. Drafted by the Power in the 2016 Rookie Draft, the 186cm defender made 168 appearances for the South Australian club.
