Kim Zolciak’s boyfriend, Kyle Mowitz, has asked a judge to keep Kroy Biermann away from his children, citing what he describes as concerns about the former American football player’s unpredictable behaviour. The request forms part of court documents filed during Mowitz’s divorce from his estranged wife, Jillian Green, who is now dating Biermann. Mowitz claims Green’s divorce filings contain “untruths” and says she has been dishonest about the relationship for months. Mowitz says he does not object to Green dating Biermann, but argues that allegations about Biermann’s conduct create a potential risk of danger or harm to the children. He…

Opposition leader Angus Taylor has blamed the Albanese Government’s spending for persistent inflation after the Reserve Bank raised the cash rate to a 15-year high of 4.6 per cent. Speaking on Wednesday, Mr Taylor rejected the suggestion that the increase was solely the result of the conflict in the Middle East and disruption to global energy markets. “Interest rates were rising again before the Middle East crisis. And the Reserve Bank Governor made it very clear that there were already pressures in the economy driving up inflation and interest rates before that,” he told the ABC. Mr Taylor said Australia…
Tropical Storm Polo is bringing the threat of heavy rain and flash flooding across the south-western United States after crossing Mexico, with more than 30 million people potentially affected from Arizona to Iowa. The storm was downgraded from a hurricane on Tuesday afternoon as it moved inland. Roads in southern New Mexico have already been flooded, leaving drivers trapped in vehicles until the water receded. Polo made landfall in Mexico’s Baja California Sur as a hurricane before crossing the Gulf of California and making a second landfall in Sonora. It was travelling north-east at about 21mph and was expected to…
Lindsay Clancy’s defence has argued that there is no evidence she killed her three children, asking a Massachusetts judge to dismiss the case after her murder trial ended in a mistrial. Clancy appeared in Plymouth County Superior Court on Tuesday for the first time since jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict earlier this month. The former nurse, who is paralysed from the waist down, sat in a wheelchair at the defence table as lawyers debated whether she should face a second trial. Defence attorney Kevin Reddington told Judge William Sullivan that the prosecution’s case was based on speculation and…

Goldman Sachs is considering a succession plan that could see president John Waldron replace chief executive David Solomon as early as next year, with Solomon moving into the role of executive chairman. The proposal has reportedly been discussed by the bank’s board and could be put to a vote in the coming months. Goldman Sachs spokesman Tony Fratto said there was “no definitive timeline for succession”, adding that boards routinely consider leadership planning over the near, medium and longer term. Any change would come as Goldman enjoys a strong run of performance. The bank has advised on more than $1…
The alleged gang rape case involving Cornell University is set to move forward this week, with Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten expected to meet Jane Doe and her lawyer. Mr Van Houten said he had been in contact with the woman’s legal team about her potential co-operation with the grand jury process and what it would involve. “My hope is that we will connect with him and Jane Doe as early as tomorrow and start that process,” he told People on Tuesday. The development follows criticism from Jane Doe’s lawyer of Cornell officials’ handling of the allegations. She…
Scotland suffered a 3-0 defeat by Switzerland at Hampden Park after Jack Hendry was sent off inside the opening 10 minutes of Sebastien Pocognoli’s first home match in charge. Hendry brought down Dan Ndoye while denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, prompting Serbian referee Nenad Minakovic to award a penalty and show the defender a yellow card. A VAR review found the challenge had taken place outside the area, but the red card remained. Ricardo Rodriguez then gave Switzerland the lead from the resulting free-kick, curling an effort from the edge of the box into the top-left corner beyond Angus Gunn.…
